There is plenty to do at The Villas either at the resort or in the Pocono Mountain region. Our activities staff have made it easy for you to see some of the great area attractions by scheduling organized trips throughout the week. But, there is nothing that says you can’t load up the car and go on your own. It’s your vacation, plan it as you please. Some of the great trips include:

  • Holley Ross Potteryholleyross.com – they make their own fine quality products at their on-site factory. The free pottery demonstrations are held Monday through Friday at 11am and show the steps involved from mixing the clay to the finished product. Come watch how your gifts were made!
  • Lakota Wolf Preservelakotawolf.com – View wolves here in the East in a natural surrounding for the first time in over a century. Bobcats and foxes also reside at the reserve.
  • Franklin Hill Vineyardsfranklinhillvineyards.com – come tour the winery and Franklin Hill always has free tastings.
  • Callie’s Candy Kitchencalliescandy.com – see candy made fresh on the premises! Get to taste free treats.
  • The McDade Trailnps.gov/dewa/planyourvisit/hikes-mcdade.htm – this biking and walking trail designed for people of all abilities is located just minutes from The Villas. This wide gravel path follows the Delaware River for 5+ miles and is the perfect place to enjoy the scenic beauty of the Delaware Water Gap National Park. Along the trail are areas designated for picnicking and swimming which have restrooms and vending machines. The Trail winds along the river, mostly in sight of it, but also on the top of the river banks through corn fields and meadows.
  • Pocono Snake & Animal Farmpoconosnakeandanimalfarm.com – a perfect “starter zoo” for the little ones, who can bottle-feed the deer, goats, and pot bellied pigs, or feed the monkeys and pet the rabbits, all in an area they can visit within an hour’s time. From the huge 23 foot python to the tiniest cotton-top tamarin, their “pets” will thrill the entire family.
  • Bushkill Falls visitbushkillfalls.com – the “Niagara of Pennsylvania”, Bushkill Falls is among the Keystone State’s most famous scenic attractions. This unique series of eight waterfalls, nestled deep in the wooded Pocono Mountains, is accessible through an excellent network of hiking trails and bridges which afford fabulous views of the falls and the surrounding forest.
  • Pocono Racewaypoconoraceway.com – Pocono Raceway hosts two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races each summer. See Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart and all the stars of NASCAR compete for 500 miles at speeds up to 200 mph on Pocono Raceway’s demanding 2.5 mile super speedway.
  • Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Areanps.gov/dewa - the Delaware River is the primary focus of recreational activity in the park with canoeing, kayaking, boating, fishing, and swimming. In addition, the recreation area offers more than 100 miles of hiking trails, including more than 27 miles of the Appalachian Trail.
